Welcome to the new Spring Fling in the Mountains website. 

What is Spring fling in the Mountains?  Started 8 years ago by a group of retired Orlando Police Officers who live in Blue Ridge and Blairsville, GA the Spring Fling in the Mountains has grown to include L.E.O.'s from multiple agencies around Florida.  It also includes both active and retired; sworn and civilian, young and not so young who all have a law enforcement background.  We gather every year to site see, enjoy local activities and gather for dinner nightly to catch up and exchange stories.  We welcome all agencies and have two goals: 1.) that you and your family have a great time in the N. Georgia Mountains and 2.) everyone has plenty to eat!

    6:00 pm  Dinner - TBD- Social time and Meet and Greet.  We will probably be at the Whistle Stop again this year but it is under new ownership and they are doing some renovations.  We want to wait and see how it turns out and make sure they are open.


Friday and Saturday May 5 & 6, 2017

    Breakfast - Complimentary for hotel guests, served in the lobby.

    Lunch - On own if not on one of the tours

    Dinners - 5:00pm both nights @ the Pavilion

Do you have a business that markets itself to Police Retirees? If you want to get the word out to your fellow officers about your business (it can be home based or office based) you are welcome to set up a table and put out information during both our dinners.  You will need to provide your own table because we only have enough to accommodate our dining needs.  There is NO CHARGE but a donation for our Brown Bag Auction would be appreciated!!! 


Brown Bag Auction:  We will have another Brown Bag Auction this year!  The money gained from this auction helps to keep the costs down.  If you are in a position to donated a good or service and most especially something Home Made we would be ever so grateful and we will make sure everyone knows who the donation is from!! I'm going to try to get a afghan completed.  As always we will also have a 50/50 raffle!

*  We will have boat rides of Lake Blue Ridge again this year.  Donald Mull, the gentleman who did this for us last year, has agreed to do this again.  Everyone who went last year had a great time and Don loves LEO's since he comes from a family of LEO's.  Arrangements can be made when you get here.

* Hang out and play cards at the Pavilion – you are welcome to just to sit around and chat or hang out all weekend at the Pavilion..  I will have a poker set available and some board games if anyone wants to play.  We’ll be happy to show you how the coffee maker works!!!
